Dawn Chorus & Lecture on Birdsong
on view at the gallery through 24 October 2026
In parallel with this exhibition, several external projects and releases take place this month:
Film Screening
A Film Trilogy at Abaton Cinema
This specia screening explores the human fascination with nature and its limits. ABATON-Kino in Hamburg will show three films by Andy Holden: A Natural History of Nest Building (2017) questions the architecture of the bird world, oscillating between instinct and animal aesthetics. The Opposite of Time (a Social History of Egg Collecting) (2017) sheds light on the dark side of collecting passion and the tension between species conservation and the urge for ownership. The final film Lecture on Birdsong (2011–2026) presents across six walks, a father and son attempt to decipher birdsong a touching, philosophical dialogue about learning and the realisation that nature can never be fully translated into human language.
